The European Public Prosecutor’s Office is seeking applications for the position of Talent Acquisition Specialist.

The EPPO is the independent public prosecution office of the European Union, responsible for investigating, prosecuting and bringing to judgment crimes against the financial interests of the EU.

As a member of the Human Resources unit, you will contribute to the development and execution of the HR vision and strategy that will enable the EPPO to build and grow a talented, engaged and diverse workforce aligned to its organisational needs.

Under the strategic guidance of EPPO’s Administrative Director, the Human Resources (HR) unit is developing and providing an expanding portfolio of comprehensive Human Resources services that the European Public Prosecutor’s Office is leveraging to deliver its mission and objectives. As such, the HR unit is a strategic business partner to the rest of the EPPO central and local (decentralised) components.

Through its ongoing development phases, the EPPO HR unit offers an innovative, challenging and rewarding working environment to talented professionals looking to grow in an HR specialist career with a purpose, i.e. contributing to further develop a brand-new component of the European Union’s Justice Framework. 

Tasks and responsibilities:

Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, you will work as an HR specialist in the field of Talent Acquisition with the perspective to further develop in one or more HR areas alongside the evolution of the organisation and its business needs.

Your tasks will possibly include (but not be limited to):

  1. Talent Sourcing and Acquisition:
  • Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract qualified candidates.
  • Ensure all sourcing channels are sufficiently utilised, including but not limited to career portals, social networks, events, job fairs, etc.
  • Advocate for equity and inclusion in the hiring process and ensure all candidate pipelines are representative of the European talent market.

    2. Interviewing and Selection:

  • Lead the assessment and selection process.
  • Conduct the initial review of applications to assess candidates’ eligibility.
  • Support a thorough screening of applications to identify suitable candidates.
  • Coordinate and schedule selection with the selection panel, and assist the panel and the hiring manager in decision-making.

    3. Candidate Management:

  • Build and maintain a network of potential candidates through proactive market research and on-going relationship management. 
  • Ensure a positive candidate experience through timely communication and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate and organised candidate records.

    4. Collaboration and Relationship Building:

  • Work closely with managers to deeply understand the organisation structure, responsibilities, strengths, weaknesses and key business drivers. Utilise this information to develop the most effective recruiting strategies.
  • Partner with HR colleagues to align recruiting efforts with overall HR strategies.
  • Foster relationships with universities and other organisations to support talent acquisition initiatives.

    5. Monitoring and improving Talent Acquisition processes:

  • Consult on ideas and strategies related to recruitment that will contribute to the long-term growth of the organisation.
  • Drive continuous improvement, fine tuning standard processes, implementing new processes and technology, as well as spending time to ensure the ongoing education of hiring managers on recruitment best practice and interviewing skills.
  • Articulate the recruiting plans with deliverables, timelines and a formal tracking process. Solve problems and produce solutions by collecting and analysing data. Analyse recruitment metrics to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. 
  • Prepare regular reports on recruitment activities, candidate pipelines, and hiring status.
